What a colossal effort by members of our club. All those who have helped in the run up to the NKI25 tournament should be proud of the work you have done so far. Now the fun part, actually hosting the weekend of lacrosse and raising funds to further develop lacrosse in Wilmslow and the surrounding areas.
The grounds look amazing and there will be more lacrosse played over the event that ever before with 11 teams in the men's competition, 7 women's teams and Saturday we will also see WLC play host to U13 and 15 Cheshire and Lancashire A and B ladies teams. This is without question the largest Nick Kehoe Tournament held so far and there are ambitious plans to growth it further next year to 18 men's and 12 women's teams, there'll certainly be a few teams that will regret not committing to this year and we expect they will return next year once word gets around.
A huge thank you to all the sponsors who have given their assistance to Wilmslow Lacrosse with cash, goods and services. Unless you've run an event like this you never really understand the running costs, referee's bar bill alone can bring a tear to the eye! Jokes aside, there has been way more moving parts for this tournament than in previous years and many different people have been driving the event with the hand over from Clive and Jan Perrin, who for countless years have built the tournament to be one of the most loved on the UK lacrosse calendar.
Good luck to all the teams that will compete this year.
