Did you know that George Daniel, drummer in The 1975 is a former Wilmslow Lacrosse Club member?
The four-piece met in 2002 in Manchester, U.K. at Wilmslow High School and started playing together in 2004. The band first performed at these gigs for teenagers (that a local council member organized) and would cover punk songs. The band played these cover until, eventually, they started writing their own music.
While at school George allow found the sport of lacrosse and was in fact a very talented attacker. George came through all the junior teams from U12 up to U19 and played for the senior men's teams, a strong player who could play as well with his off hand as his strong side who had a cannon of a shot and was a great dodger.
