Wilmslow women vs Leeds 11/10/25
Coming off the back of a huge win over Sheffield last weekend, Wilmslow Ladies were feeling positive going into their next match against Leeds at home.
They put their pedal to metal from the get-go - an ambitious plan for a game of 8s on a full size pitch, but you’ve got to back yourself! Leeds managed to ride out the pressure for the first half, with the score an even 6-6 after 30 minutes. A quick change of tactics saw Wilmslow settle back a bit, and quickly regain the advantage.
It was a quick game, with lots of transition, fast breaks, and turnovers - and not a lot of time to catch your breath! Our midfield unit put in a spectacular shift up and down the pitch, and our draw-takers did a brilliant job gaining us possession from the whistle.
The attack worked hard to play a coordinated and controlled game, keeping the ball moving and giving our speedy drivers the space they need. There were also picks a-plenty, and some lovely peels too. Definitely a step in the right direction!
Our defence worked well to contain the opposing threats, and both our goalies made sensational saves.
Final score was 14-11 to Wilmslow - a speedy, spicy one! 🌶️
