Since the return of Wilmslow men's first team to Championship 1 for the 2023/24 season the team has made huge steps forward, taking a more professional approach on and off the field and playing some of the best lacrosse seen at the club for more than 15 years.
The 2024/25 season has seen the new look team continue to progress and once again seen some great personnel additions that have strengthened our player pool allowing for a more serious push for a top four finish, currently sitting in 5th place in the 9 team division but with games in hand over all teams that sit above Wilmslow. Interesting fact, if we were to win all our remaining games then we are looking at 2nd place and a return to Premier division lacrosse for the first time in nearly a decade.
With so many new players joining Wilmslow the past 3 years it's far to say that the first team is still learning about each other but are really starting to gel, each game we get better. The sporadic nature of the season over the past 2 years thanks to International weekends has made getting in to any kind of real flow as a team but as of now until the end of the season we have consistent fixtures and just hit our stride at the business end of the year.
