Wilmslow 1st Team – 2019/20 Season
Biog to come
I have been a member of wilmslow lacrosse club for just over 10 years, since I was 10. I began lacrosse because I did pop lacrosse in primary school with various LDOs and finally got convinced to come down by Jason Perrin after 3 years of playing in school.
I grew up playing attack in juniors but then switched to more of a midfielder role when I transitioned into seniors. My favourite memory of being apart of wilmslow lacrosse club is either going to the ISB tournament when I was 14 and winning it or being apart of the club during the 2018/19 season when both of our senior teams won their respective leagues.
Lacrosse has given me so many amazing opportunities and I have the honour of saying that I have represented the Scotland u19s team in the u19 world championships in 2016 in Coquitlam, Canada. I also had the pleasure of traveling out to San Francisco with the scotland senior squad in October 2017 as part of the training leading to the world championships. I aspire to continue to be involved with scotland lacrosse in the future and am currently aiming to be apart of the 2020 euros in Poland.
I hope that my first season as captain can be as successful as last years season for the club and hope that we can develop into an even stronger group of players.

CAPTAIN – MATT SMITH
Hi I’m Matt Smith, #98, I’ve played lacrosse for Wilmslow since I was 7 years old. Since starting at the club I’ve also captained the England Academy and the English Knights. We have many ex-internationals and other experienced players mentoring the youth at the club as well as a group of some of the best coaches in the country. I know Wilmslow can find its way back to the top especially with the support from our non playing members.
